Museum of Antiquities of North-Western Crimea is situated on Kara-Tobe
Hill at 7 km from town Saki (click here to see the map).
On this place in 110 B. C. the landing of Greek army commanded by Diaphanous,
who arrived in Crimea to defend Chersoneses against attack by Scythian,
had took place. Diaphanous erected on the hill the fortress Eupatorion, named in
honour of the King of Pontius Kingdom - Mitridat VI Eupator, and here a military
garrison - bulwark of Greek-Pontius army in Crimea, was situated.
Museum of Antiquities is the unique in North-West Crimea museum in the open air.
Its most interesting exhibit are the archaeological dig of ancient fortress
Eupatorion and the unique reconstruction of the Scythian Hut.
Finds of Scythian period are main part of museum exposition. Between them
