KARA-TOBE International Center of Innovation Pedagogic and Experimental Archaeology
Kara-Tobe is an ancient site IV B.C. – II A.D. on the Western Part of Crimean Peninsula near the famous mud-cure town-spa Saki. Systematic archaeological excavations on the site have been carrying out since 1983. Excavations confirm hypothesis of localization of Evpatorion fortress, which was building about 110 B.C. during the Diophantine wars, on the Kara-Tobe hill.
In 2000 "Evaptorion Ltd." has been established. The company main purpose is an originating conditions, which guarantee protection of Kara-Tobe archaeological monument to the future generations.
Works by "International center of innovation pedagogic and experimental archaeology" project were begun since 2002. A Scythian farmstead (I B.C.) has been reconstructed and has been used as a sightseeing object. Two brochures, narrated about ancient sites in the Crimea, have been published.
A Summer Health-Restore Center for children and adults is working on the base of International Center. Comprehensive rest program and free excursions around Crimea are proposed in the Center.
Building of Scythian village and continuance of experimental work of studying life, crafts, ancient technologies of dwelling construction, pottery and weapon production are carrying out since 2003.
